Video Blog: Need Before Greed, Gob Nerf, Pets, Murkablo, Thoughts on 4.1 so far, and 4.2 Keyring

Video Discussion:

Need Before Greed
Perhaps you got lucky, won that fantastic purple BoE, and you decide to sell on the AH, but it's soulbound! So in case you didn't know the update on rolling Need Before Greed on BoEs levels out the playing field in terms of banking on BoEs. If you roll need and win a BoE, it becomes soulbound. However, if you roll Greed, it remains unbound.

Goblin Discount Nerf?
Blizz states that it wasn't so much a nerf but to function the way it was supposed to. So a goblin who is friendly with one faction will get the exalted discount. Once the goblin reaches exalted, it would get the same price as another racial with exalted. And, it no longer stacks with other things like guild bonus. And if the goblin goes to a non-rep vendor, the Best Deals Anywhere discount does not apply.

Murkablo on the PTR
Will it be a Diablo 3 Collector Pet or Blizzcon giveaway pet? Jumps up and while in the air it Breathes fire in a steady stream. For all you blizzcon enthusiasts, blizzcon 2011 tickets is sold out, so if you want this pet, you'll have to get virtual tickets or grab one of the $500 benefit dinner tickets they just opened made available. See the Preview Video of Murkablo here or on MMO-Champion.

Pet Achievement Pets
Speaking of pets, I just got my pterrodactyl hatchling from archeology, bringing me one step closer to my 150 pet achieve! I'm excited that they'll be adding pets to the pet achievements, with the Littlest Pet Shop awarding a Celestial Dragon pet that will go perfectly with my Celestial Steed. Since I have the 100 and 125 pet achievements, I'll be looking forward to getting Nuts' Acorn for Petting Zoo and Brilliant Kaliri for Menagerie achievements.

Thoughts on 4.1 (so far)
How many of you got kicked out of a troll heroic?
You wait in the dungeon finder and then spend over an hour going through content only to be kicked out when the loot rolls out because someone from the guild run wants the same drop you want. This sort of behavior is running rampant. It gets to the point where people who join an instance group has to make sure the other players are not in the same realm or guild in case they get kicked when the item or mount you've farmed weeks for finally drops and they end up stealing it. It has happened to many friends of mine and they have written tickets in protest, but they won't get the time or the item back. Yes, the price of maelstroms has dropped and more people are getting geared faster, but at what cost? And the DCs and lag makes it even more difficult to get anything done in a fast amount of time. Granted, we get better gear rolling out in 4.2, but it's about principle and time wasted. The kicking penalties don't even justify this sort of treatment, it is minor in comparison.

Goodbye Keyring in 4.2
Lastly, in 4.2 we say goodbye to the keyring. Personally, I'm upset about this, because I don't like the idea of keys cluttering my bags. Now Blizz says that they implemented the keyring in 1.11 because it was a necessity due to smaller bags. But since then, we've had more content and items cluttering our banks and bags. Now, my fellow WoW Hoarders, we'll have to decide between keys and, say, grey gear sets or that extra stack of dream dust. And if you decide to head down to BRD for some farming, be sure you grab your keys from your bank beforehand or have the argent pony for bank access, because you'll either have to hearth or summon a guildie to open up for you.

When I first heard about the keyring I was upset about it too, but after thinking about it, I can understand the need to remove it. The concept of keys in the game just hasn't been supported for so long (its been two expansions since the last time we've ever needed them) and it doesn't look like there will be any need for key attunements in the near future. Don't get me wrong, I'm as nostalgic as the next guy (seeing as how I'm one of the few locks that actually bought my Scholo key), but I understand the thought process behind it. I just wish they let us keep the slots as a closet feature for gear sets (tier, dungeon, etc...).

I hear ya.. it's just the fact that we'll be losing more bag space. So if I want to do BRD, that's 3 slots less for me. If you are a blacksmith, that's even more inconvenient. They should make another bag slot to make up for the keyring, now that I think about it. Thnx for the visit and the comment!!
