Laydeekayden: My Blog Newb on Bleeding Hollow

Auctions House Win: Level 15
The Project

So I decided to create a newb on a server I've never been to without any BoAs or anything. A few friends followed along, but I don't accept any help from them. Furthermore, I joined a level 1 guild so I won't have the benefit of guild perks. The reason I'm doing this is to recreate situations for other players new or casual to World of Warcraft for a future video blog.

A Bit About My Blog Newb, Laydeekayden

Those of you familiar with my blog or who know me also know that the LK in Lkpriest stands for Ladykayden. Since World of Warcraft doesn't allow "Lady" for a name, I came up with Laydeekayden instead. The name is actually from my Minions of Mirth character: Ladykayden. I came up with the name because it's kind of an inside joke. "Okay Then" > "Okay Den" > "'Kay Den". Lolz.

I'm also playing a class I'm not very familiar with: Mage. This was done partly at the request of my friend, Misty. I'm actually enjoying it! My main spells are keybound to my WoW mouse. ^.^

So Far...

So far, I've made about 1000g and I'm not even level 40 yet! I'll discuss the finer points in a future blog post. I've also joined a very nice guild (Guild Name: School) with a sweet guild master named Avalon. Two of my friends joined me there, Matt and Franky, but Franky is still stuck in the goblin nub area :P

For Future Posts

A few topics I'd like to tackle in regards to Laydeekayden are:
  • Gold (this is the one I'm working on now)
  • DPS (resources? Still on the fence on this one)
  • Helpful Addons (many new players are unfamiliar with this)
  • PvP (Debating on this one, I'm not sure I have much time for this one)
  • Getting into raiding (The first is always the hardest.. don't you think?)

Overseas Friends Serving

Even their shirts are camo out there!

This blog post is dedicated to our brave men and women serving both here and overseas. This particular one is of Hoesey aka Slaeh aka Retnuh, he's like a best friend or a brother to me. He's currently serving in Afghanistan and he fixes helicopters. Sometimes he pulls long hours and there's not a lot to do for downtime, so playing WoW is a great stress relief.

Currently, I'm working on a blog for helping people new to WoW, so we started newbs on another server. Thanks for everything! You are a great friend.

"Dude, it says DANGER" LMAO!!!!

Venting: Parent Aggro Fail

Raid Chat Looked Something Like This:
Raider: So we lust when Riplimb goes down?
Raid Leader: Our bloodlust went shopping.
Raider: Oh :(

The AFKer
So, we're about to pull Shannox and then someone has to go AFK to go to the store. Parent aggro sucks. But still, during a raid? Not sure why parents do that. Maybe it's control issues? Either way, it sucks.

In My Experience
Reminds me of this one time I was in a raid and a certain person has me go do something stupid that they could obviously have done themselves (ie: get a glass of water). Furthermore, I know for a FACT that they do it just because I'm not paying attention to them or at their beck and call. FYI, I am no longer with that person.

Solution
Solution? Get stuff done before raid. And if a certain person or persons like to bug you during your raid, let them know you will be raiding at this time and if they need anything, you'll do it now. If said person does not respect this, then decisions need to be made.
