My Week in World of Warcraft: Blizzcon In-Game Item (Deathy) Announced and more!
This week, Blizzcon's in-game item was announced! Deathy is a murloc decked out like Deathwing. Much nicer than last year's murloc. Question is, would u buy a Blizzcon ticket for $39.95 just for the chance to get the pet? Of course not... we tell ourselves we get 4 days of virtual viewing pleasure! Personally, I wouldnt mind seeing the contests and special guests... plus the live concert looks great!
I also redid my UI.. gave it a complete makeover! So, if you are interested, check out my vids/posts on UI Makeovers.
I also posted several raid encounter videos for heroic mode ICC25, but forgot to do a few (like Marrowgar! drr!!!)
Yep, definitely a busy week. If you like my video blog videos, and want to see more, you can also subscribe to my youtube channel, Lkpriest.
Thursday
Heroic ICC25m Valithria Dreamwalker
This time, the portals are red. Also, the clouds do not respawn, so coordination within the portals are important. Heal yourself too, because clouds do damage.
Here are a few more things to note:
Kill order is roughly the same as regular: Skeletons > Suppressors > Mages > Zombies > Abominations.
Cleanse the Gut Spray from tanks, otherwise they will take 50% more damage and get wiped if they are tanking a lot of mobs.
Frostbolt Volley from Skeletons drains 2K mana per cast.
Valithria has a larger health pool and will take more damage, so it is important that healers do not drop stacks!
Heroic ICC25m Festergut
BOO to Malleble Goo!! Heroic Festergut has Professor Putricide throwing Goo at the raid. Unlike Vile Gas, it can affect melee and ranged. Positioning is important!
Watch for the green puddles.. and spread out!

UI Makeover Pt. 1
If you've been keeping up with my blog and seen a few of my raid encounter videos, you may have noticed my UI. Granted, it is a bit more visible than the standard World of Warcraft UI, but it still looks chaotic and disorganized.
So I talked with Tidus, one of my guildmates, and he showed me his UI and how he customized. I liked the organized look of it, and decided to do the same. Some of the AddOns I use are:
- KGpanels
- Dominos
- Button Facade
- Mik's Scrolling Battle Text
- Tip Tac
- SexyMap
- Healbot Continued
- ArkInventory
In my video, I don't go much into installing your textures. So I'll discuss it here:
- Save your artwork in a separate folder in addons, do not put it in kgPanels. You can name it kgart if you want or whatev.
- Type" /kgpanels config " to bring up your kgpanels interface.
- Go to Art Library, and write the path to the artwork you want kgpanels to point to. For example: //interface/addons/kgart/priestart/dark_center_dark.tga (Notice that I used "//" in front of interface, and tga is the type of artwork texture file I want Kgpanels to display).
- Select which Layout you want it to display under, this is so you don't mix up your priest textures with your warrior textures etc.
- You can find your textures and select them in the Texture Options menu under Active Panels > NameOfYourPanel

Lkpriest's Week in WoW for week ending August 20
Definitely an interesting week in WoW! Server difficulties interfered with raid time, but on a brighter note, the Cataclysm Collector's Edition was announced! I also added in a bunch of blooper footage before I delete them forever.. and did a blurb about my youtube channel. Please subscribe if you like my vids!
Thanks for watching my video blog! See you next week ^_-
Heroic ICC25m Rotface (and surviving server issues)
Last night was a pretty rough night for heroic ICC. The server had login difficulties, and many players ended up waiting up to 30 minutes on blue line before getting in game. As a result, we had to do a bit of juggling. We nearly canceled the raid! However, being able to adapt and communicate makes overcoming challenges like these a possibility.
Since we only had one paladin, tank healing and Hand of Freedom became a major issue that we managed to overcome. Through it all, we downed a few bosses, but I forgot to video record some of the encounters. Luckily, I did remember to press record on Rotface!
Here are a few things to remember when downing Heroic Mode Rotface:
- With Putricide in the equation, you now get Vile Gas on a random player. Melee will not get this debuff if there are at least 8 ppl in ranged.
- Mutated Infection now deals more damage and reduces healing by 75%.
- Ooze flood deals approximately 5.5K dmg/sec and reduces movement speed by 10%. This stacks up to 10xs for 5secs. Players and Ooze tank can't spend too much time in ooze flood or they will get rooted.
- Throwing a Hand of Freedom on the add (or ooze) tank when they call for it will help with kiting.

Heroic ICC25m Blood Prince Council: a Holy Priest's Perspective
In the heroic version, positioning and timer awareness is key. Not only do the Blood Princes have more health, but for each second of movement, you start stacking Shadow Prison. This debuff allots 500dmg per tick. This will fall off after 10 seconds of no movement. You get no damage while remaining still.
Also, kinetic bombs drop faster and lower, so you everyone needs to be aware. It also helps to dispel Glittering Sparks in order to put less strain on the healers due to all the damage going out. Finally, please note that Shock Vortex has also increased in damage plus knock backs at 12 yards.
For more tips on normal version and other mechanics of Blood Prince Council, please visit my post here.
Heroic ICC25m Blood Queen Lana'thel
Heroic Blood Queen is all about DPS, timing, and communication. In the heroic version, Blood Queen Lana'thel gets a buff to her AoE Aura for every vampire out there. As the fight progresses, damage taken increases, causing a strain on healers. Good CD Management, including reserving Innervate for healers, will help ensure a steady flow of heals are consistently spread out.
Awareness is also key. Watch your boss mod warnings for Pact and Swarming Shadows. Also, having a raid member with an addon like Vamp will help with bite distribution.
For more details and tips on Blood Queen Lana'thel normal version, please check out my post here.

Heroic ICC25m Gunship Battle, But We Call it Easy Mode!
Notes on this post redo: Redid the sound.. blurriness hopefully improved..
Heroic Gunship ICC25m is the easiest of the heroic modes. A great way to get loot too! Just avoid the glyphs on the ground where the bombs are coming (I call them Pokeballs), and pay attention! DPS makes a difference on this fight.
Anyways, ENJOY!!

The Search for the Elusive Turtle Mount aka Mount Farming SUCKS!
Ever since I made up my mind to try to obtain the turtle mount, I find myself compulsively farming pools. It has gotten so bad, that in the middle of daily quests, if there is a pool nearby, I have to farm it.
Same goes for Chuck, the croc pet from the Shatt fishing daily.. I check it out every day just for the chance to get it.
Granted, such fish farming has resulted in never having to worry about being well fed... and certainly I'm more popular in raids because I am never without a fish feast... but it still gets frustrating.
Imagine getting ganked while you have a fishing pole... or better yet, getting into a dungeon queue with your fishing pole still equipped.
And did I mention the lack of bag space?
All in all, mount farming is certainly an act of passion and compulsion. How else can you explain hours of waiting and searching for something that amounts to a four leaf clover?
My advice: be prepared for the long haul. Have a coffee. Watch a show on your computer or listen to some good music. Hopefully such dedication will be rewarded...some day.
Monday
When I make a character, it's Horde. But, just for fun I decided to make a female dwarf DK.
The novelty is, there aren't many female dwarves around... so I'll be pretty unique. I also got a bit of nostalgia, because my first priest was a female dwarf, Just so happens, the ppl I started playing with made dwarves, so I just followed along. Plus, I just finished reading "Day of the Dragon" and it had an Aerie dwarf who talked about dwarf women with beards. I just thought that hilarious. Well... when making a female dwarf tho, beard was not an option.
So I did the DK starter quests, and just like horde, I had to go to the capital city to meet the leader of the faction. In this case, it was Stormwind. As i rode through, I had rotten apples thrown at me and got boo'd at. I still felt a little nervous because normally I have to watch my back while riding through.
Some other things I did was buy a bunch of alliance only things and sold it on the neutral auction house. That was fun. And being a DK, I had the flight path already. So... YAY! Well, life on the "other side" is a little weird. I will by no means change factions, but it's always a refreshing change of pace to see if the grass is greener so to speak.
So, create a char from the other factions, see how the quests differ and how things are done before cataclysm comes out. Who knows? you just might learn a little something about the enemy.

Lkpriest's Mount Hyjal Fly Through as Shadow Priest (Cataclysm BETA)
A quick fly through of the new 80's leveling area, Mount Hyjal. Did a bit of questing, and I'm leveling here as a shadow priest. I apologize for the low quality of the graphics.
